Capital Fuel Challenge - Results Announced
The Capital Fuel Challenge witnessed Public and Private Sector Fleets competing for the TFL Capital Fleet of the Year Awards.
The Capital Fuel Challenge was set off from Horse Guards Parade and each vehicle entered was assigned a freight task in order to measure fuel efficiency. Divided into Public & Private Sectors, emphasis fell on which fuels were the most environmentally friendly, and offered the greatest economy.
Private Sector Fleets, Local Authorities and Central Government departments all took part alongside fifth gear presenter Jonny Smith and former F1 World Champion Damon Hill. The Drive through the streets of London, saw participants having to plan the most efficient route to four check points spread throughout the capital.
Visitors to the event were able to watch the fleets progress on the big screen, thanks to the innovative route tracking technology from TrakM8.
