GREEN MOTORING JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR
Winner: Richard Bremner - cleangreencars.co.uk With the environment now attracting more media attention, sources of information on green cars and fuels have increased, particularly on the internet. Although many mainstream motoring journalists still shy away from reporting on the greener models, third party information on emissions and fuel economy is now relatively easy to find.
Launched in April 2007 Clean Green Cars’ aim is to to advise which cars are the greenest of their type, and is now generally considered the most comprehensive site for motorists concerned about the environmental impact of their car choice.
It has been praised by both the car industry and environmental writers for its depth of information, from where you can buy bio-fuels, to which cars are exempt from the congestion charge. The site rates all car models by their CO2, and provides full road tests and a wealth of other information on most of them. 'Manufacturer Watch' provides a take on what each of the major car makers are doing to make their ranges greener, and a superb jargon buster will help consumers make informed choices about their next car, and possibly even the one after that. One feature explains how to run you car on tax free green diesel.
Editor Richard Bremner, and Publisher Jay Nagley, are keen to point out that the team are motoring journalists rather than environmentalists, but still manage to put a great case forward for switching to greener alternatives, and provide a wealth of information on how to do it.
For making a great job of cleangreencars.co.uk, the Green Motoring Journalist of the Year Award goes to Richard Bremner, its editor. |
