FLEET MANAGER OF THE YEAR (PRIVATE SECTOR)
sponsored by Venson
Winner: Kevin Webb - Business Post Kevin Webb believes environmentally we all have a part to play whether it be the smaller tasks at home or more importantly in business where even the smallest action can make a significant difference. During his time at Business Post, Kevin has been directly responsible for a number of specification changes.
Alterations to the make up of the company car fleet have resulted in a combined lower than average CO2 out put of 158.70g/km. Business Post is now considering a cap on CO2 levels for all cars set at 165g/km this will effectively further reduce the overall average by 3.3% to 154.20g/km and reduce fuel usage by 3.1%. Also the use of Bio-Diesel where available has been introduced at all corporate sites, it is a 95%: 5% blend. Independent tests on this fuel carried out at an approved vehicle testing lab reported a reduction in CO2 emissions and an improved fuel efficiency of 1.5 - 2.0%.
Kevin Webb and Business Post will continue to explore other means of reducing the environmental impact of the current and future fleet operated by the business.
